Questions about the learning objectives

Where do I find the EVT learning objectives?

On EVTCC's Exams & Prep page. Each of its 22 exams has a Reference Materials and Learning Objectives sheet and a Sample Questions sheet, both PDFs. This page lists every objectives sheet, with the date printed on it and what it covers.

Are the EVT exams based on the learning objectives?

Yes. EVTCC describes its reference lists and study objectives as the ones its examinations are based on, and says the objectives should be used as the basis for preparing for an EVT exam, whether or not you take a class.

How up to date are the learning objectives?

EVTCC revises them one sheet at a time, and each sheet has its date at the top. The sheets read on October 11, 2026 are dated from June 2024 (FA4) to October 2026 (E0).

Is everything on the exam in the reference material?

Not always. 13 of the 22 sheets warn that the exam may include accepted-practice or hands-on questions you will not find in the listed references: F3, F4, F5, F6, FA4, F7, E1, E2, E3, E4, A1, A2 and A3.

Do the learning objectives use the new NFPA 1900 and 1910 numbers?

Yes. 19 of the 22 sheets cite NFPA 1900 or NFPA 1910, with the old standard named in brackets, such as NFPA 1900 (the NFPA 1901 chapters). The ground ladder sheet cites NFPA 1960 and NFPA 1930 for the old 1931 and 1932 chapters.
