This Privacy Policy explains how Kyle Hedlund ("we", "us"), the operator of Overhaul Prep (the "Service"), handles your information.
What we collect
- Account info: your email address and a securely hashed password.
- Billing info: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — only a Stripe customer ID and your subscription status.
- Study progress: your quiz scores and review data are stored in your browser; when you're signed in, they also sync to your account so you can continue on another device.
- Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, request info) used for security and reliability.
How we use it
- To create and secure your account and log you in.
- To provide the subscription and process payments (via Stripe).
- To send account emails (e.g., password resets and, if you receive one, a welcome email).
- To protect against fraud and abuse.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
- Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/privacy).
- Fly.io — application hosting.
- SMTP2GO — sending our account emails.
- Google Analytics — anonymous traffic measurement on our public pages (policies.google.com/privacy).
- Authorities where legally required.
Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you logged in. We also use Google Analytics on our public marketing pages to measure how many people visit and which pages they read — it sets its own cookies and collects a truncated IP address, approximate location, and browser details. It runs only on the public site, not inside the study app, and we never send it your name, email, or anything you answer. We don't use advertising cookies and we don't sell your data. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser — the site works either way.
Data retention & your choices
We keep account data while your account is active. Email legal@overhaulprep.app to access, correct, or delete your data. Cancelling stops billing; deleting your account removes your personal data (Stripe may retain billing records as required by law). Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws like the CCPA/CPRA or GDPR — contact us to exercise them.
Children
The Service is intended for adults and working professionals and is not directed to children under 13; we don't knowingly collect their data.
